INTRODUCTION:

The Philippine National Standard (PNS) Code of Good Animal Husbandry Practice (GAHP) for Swine has been prepared by the Technical Working Group (TWG) for GAHP for Swine as per Department of Agriculture Special Order No. 776 series of 2016 and approved by the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture.

The main objective of this code is to ensure that the farms’ farming practices shall provide consumers with products that are safe and fit for distribution and/or human consumption. It shall also ensure safety and comfort to farm workers and animals without any degradation to the environment.
