24PPC Video and Attendee Demographic Report

 

The Philippine College of Swine Practitioners’ opening video for the 24PPC featured the story of our ongoing fight versus the African Swine Fever virus.    Video link here

We are also happy to share the demographics of our attendees.

There were more Males (65%) than Females (35%).  Majority were Veterinarians (60%), followed by Agriculturists (18%) and 22% were from other professions and occupations.

The top 4 regions of practice with high number of attendees were in Region 4A (120 heads, 28%), followed by NCR (99, 23%),and Region 3 (90, 21%).  There were also many attendees from Regions 7, 12, 11, 10 and 1.

This is comparable to the 2018 data from the 22^nd PPC – where we had the most number of attendees from Reg 3 (33%), followed closely by Reg 4A (26%) and NCR (28%).

Majority of our 24PPC attendees are doing farm practice (37%), followed by corporate (33%) and consultancy (12%).

This is also consistent with the 2019 data.  However, we saw lesser attendees with consultancy as practice – as this was previously at 19%.

Lastly, it is of interest where our attendees are going to schools attended/ graduated from.  Both in 2019 and 2020, we have graduates from 19 (out of 21)veterinary schools who are interested in swine practice and there are a lot of other schools that have joined the event as well.
